How Does Purehealth ReGrow Work?

According to the official Purehealth website, ReGrow’s ingredients address common causes of poor hair health, such as hormonal imbalance, oxidative stress, and nutrient deficiencies. In addition to addressing these underlying causes, ReGrow stimulates hair follicle cell proliferation, regulates scalp immunity, balances moisture levels, and boosts scalp circulation.

Purehealth doesn’t specify how long it takes to see significant results while using ReGrow.

The Science Behind Purehealth ReGrow

The official Purehealth website says its innovative products are reviewed and formulated by its advisory board. Purehealth’s advisory board features a naturopathic physician, registered dietician, doctor of oriental medicine, biologist, and health and wellness coach. What Are The Ingredients In Purehealth ReGrow?

Purehealth Regrow contains over 23 ingredients. We’ve highlighted some of its main components below.

Vitamin A – Both a deficiency and an excess of vitamin A can contribute to hair loss and poor health. Vitamin A’s active metabolites, including retinoic acid and retinal, influence hair follicle stem cells responsible for the hair growth cycle.[1]
Vitamin D – Like vitamin A, vitamin D is an essential fat-soluble vitamin that plays a role in hair growth and maintenance. Research[2] suggests that a vitamin D deficiency is associated with several types of hair loss, including androgenetic alopecia (AGA), telogen effluvium, and alopecia areata (AA). However, we lack sufficient evidence demonstrating the most effective dosages of Vitamin D for promoting hair regrowth. Dosing may be unique to each individual.
Biotin – Despite its long-time association with skin, hair, and nail health, there is limited scientific evidence of biotin’s ability to promote hair growth in healthy human subjects. Biotin may only be beneficial in the case of a significant deficiency, which is extremely rare. Symptoms of biotin deficiency can include hair loss, skin rashes, nausea, and numbness and tingling in the extremities.[3]
Hydrolyzed Collagen – Hydrolyzed collagen refers to collagen peptides from the bones and tissues of animals that have been processed in a way that lowers their molecular weight and reduces their particle size. This process may make it easier for the body to digest and absorb collagen. In a study[4] on human cells and mice, marine-derived collagen peptides significantly enhanced hair regrowth and the proliferation of dermal papilla cells. Dermal papilla cells play an important role in hair growth and formation.
Saw Palmetto – Saw Palmetto is a botanical often utilized to optimize male hormone health due to its ability to inhibit the 5-alpha reductase (5ɑ-reductase) enzyme. A medical review[5] of five clinical studies found that Saw Palmetto improved overall hair quality, total hair count, and density. These clinical studies included both oral and topical administration of Saw Palmetto. It’s unclear if there may be a superior route of administration.
Ashwagandha – In a study[6] of 61 participants, topical administration of Ashwagandha led to a significant reduction in hair shedding and improved hair density, growth, and thickness. Oral administration of Ashwagandha may also prevent hair loss and promote regrowth. In one study[7], participants who took a nutraceutical containing Ashwagandha demonstrated significant improvements in hair appearance, volume, scalp coverage, thickness, and shedding. However, this nutraceutical contained other ingredients like marine-derived collagen and Saw Palmetto, so the hair improvements can’t be attributed to Ashwagandha alone.
L-Methionine – L-methionine is an amino acid that can support joint, hair, skin, and nail health. In a study[8] on rabbits, methionine encouraged the development of hair follicles by upregulating the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.
Japanese Knotweed – Japanese Knotweed is native to Asian countries and is often used in ancient systems of medicine to treat mobility issues, immune deficiencies, and inflammation. Japanese Knotweed could potentially benefit the hair by protecting it from oxidative stress, which can be a contributing factor to premature hair loss and graying.[9] Currently, there isn’t sufficient evidence in humans to back up this logic.
